On our main campus we have a LGBTQ+ affirming student space, Pride Commons, that acts as a safe space for our LGBTQ+ students and their allies. In terms of services, we have offices from across campus that work towards our joint goals of equality, acceptance, and a positive experience for all students. LGBTQ+ Services and the Multicultural Student Center work within the department of Social Justice and Advocacy to ensure that LGBTQ+ students are recognized, celebrated, and advocated for.

Our Synopsis
LGBTQ+ Services offers Safe Zone trainings, a mentoring program for LGBTQ+ students, Speaker's Bureau training and speaking opportunities, Lavender Graduation Celebration, Affinity Groups, National Awareness and Celebration Days, and additional educational programs that foster respect for a LGBTQ+ presence on all of UCF's campuses. Additionally, we have a student director on the executive board for the Multicultural Student Center that focuses on LGBTQ+ programming. Some staple LGBTQ+ programs that come out of the MSC are: LGBTQ+ History Month, Transgender Week of Visibility, National Coming Out Day, the HIV/AIDS Awareness Day Banquet, Inclusive Prom, and many others.

Overall Campus Pride Index Score
The Campus Pride Index has a strong theoretical research foundation in LGBTQ current programs, practices and policies for safer, more inclusive campus learning environments. The index tool has been tested extensively since 2001 and recently updated with new, higher LGBTQ national benchmarks in 2015.
The Campus Pride Index is a vital tool for assisting campuses in learning ways to improve their LGBTQ campus life and ultimately shape the educational experience to be more inclusive, welcoming and respectful of LGBTQ and ally people. The index is owned and operated by Campus Pride, the leading national nonprofit organization for student leaders and campus groups working to create safer, more LGBTQ-Friendly learning environments at colleges and universities. Campus Pride commends the campuses participating in the index and their willingness to come out, be visible and actively advocate for improving higher education for LGBTQ people.
