Commitment to LGBTQ Issues

The LGBT Center works to strengthen and sustain an inclusive campus community at the University of Louisville, one that welcomes people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions through support, educational resources, and advocacy. The Center works in partnership with other diversity efforts on campus supporting the Vice Provost for Diversity and International Affairs.

LGBTQ Student Opportunities

The University of Louisville's LGBT Center provides students with a plethora of opportunities to become involved in both the Center and the campus. LGBTQ+ students and allies who wish to live on campus may become members of the Rustin Community, the University's first LGBT Themed Housing Community. We also have several organizations students may join, with themes ranging from support in coming out to becoming activists both on campus and in the greater community. The University of Louisville offers many LGBTQ+ events each year, including PRIDE Week, an alternative Thanksgiving, and PINK, a longstanding drag show that raises funds that support student programming. This year, the Center partnered with an academic division to offer an exciting new opportunity--a study abroad program focusing on queer politics in Greece.

Why you'll love Adler School of Preofessional Psychology

My experience with the Resource Center, the staff and programs has been wonderful. From getting in contact to begin the Ally development training program to meetings and the event itself, it was a very positive experience. Everyone was welcoming not only to me but the organization I was a part of as well. Following that the Center and Staff were continuously friendly and inviting.

"For me the office means family. These are just all the people I’ve become really close with in the last year. So it’s really awesome to have that support network to go to whenever I need. And then it’s good to give back to them and to be the same person for them that they are for me."

"From the second that I walked onto campus, I felt the support that I had. And I knew that I could accomplish anything that I wanted to do here."
